Augsburg is the city of the Fuggers—and that remains true to this day! With an exclusive special jersey, we honor one of the most significant eras in the city’s history and build a bridge from the age of the Fuggers and the Renaissance to the present day. The surface of the jersey is completely decorated with the Fugger family’s fleur-de-lis coat of arms. The coat of arms itself, together with the sponsor logos, evokes the noble copper tone associated with the copper trade that the Fugger family expanded throughout Europe, especially under Jakob Fugger. The collar and cuffs feature carefully chosen color accents: pink refers to the ceiling frescoes of the burial chapel in St. Anna, blue and yellow represent the Fugger family’s heraldic colors, while burgundy and dark green are associated with FCA’s club colors. The Fugger coat of arms appears prominently at the neck, and on the back, the inscription “FUGGERSTADT” replaces the usual “FC Augsburg.”
