Augsburg is the city of the Fuggers—and it still is today! With an exclusive special-edition jersey, we pay tribute to one of the most significant eras in the city’s history and build a bridge from the age of the Fuggers and the Renaissance to the present day. The jersey’s surface is entirely adorned with the Fugger family’s lily crest. The crest itself and the sponsor logos evoke the noble copper tone associated with the copper trade that the Fugger family, especially under Jakob Fugger, expanded throughout Europe. The collar and cuffs add carefully chosen accents of color: pink refers to the ceiling frescoes of the mausoleum in St. Anna, blue and yellow represent the Fugger family’s heraldic colors, while burgundy and dark green are associated with FCA’s club colors. The Fugger crest is prominently placed at the neck, and on the back, the inscription “FUGGERSTADT” replaces the usual “FC Augsburg.”
